Some Links of Interest to Gemstone Collectors & Custom Bead Work

Apr 8th, 2010 Posted in Custom Orders, New Design, New Links | No Comments »

I came across a really nice looking forum that I wanted to pass along for those who like myself wish to learn more about the gemstones they own – Mason Dixon Rock & Mineral Club.
I am including Gemstone information on the blog because for a few years now I have owned over 200 carats of various types of gemstones and have been muddling along trying to learn all I can about Identification. Not an easy task with out a formal education I can assure you but you CAN learn from helpful forums.

I will be posting some photographs of my stones here today, so keep an eye out for that as well.

I have finished my custom order piece, a choker made to match my Moonlight on the Pacific Cuff. The customer wished for silver to replace the gold as the change as well as replacing the bronze gold pearls with white silver toned.

22 Karat Bright Gold Delica Beads This piece is one of my most favorite designs because of the significance, I found early on in my work that nature and my life are important influences on what I design. As you can see the Gold Delica beads are a main portion of the piece in the center but I made sure to not over power the design ,  giving balance with the deep midnight Blue Delica beads and crystals.

The photo below is the finished choker sans the clasps as I am placing a velvet ribbon at the customers request on two toggles of silver.

This work is a made to order piece, if you are interested please IM me here with your design ideas.
